Are you experiencing anticipatory anxiety today? Are you struggling to find ways to cope with anxiety?
Invasive, negative thoughts?
Do you already feel overwhelmed by the thought of what you have to do today?
First off, virtual hug (I’ve been there) AND, I’ve got you!
Here are some questions I ask myself to recenter, and I PROMISE if you take the time to actually go through them and answer each one you WILL feel calmer when you finish.
Is this experience being magnified by any external circumstances or stressors. Are there any behavioral choices I have made recently that could have altered my energy or focus?
Am I giving myself enough rest?
Am I comparing my journey to someone else’s? Am I trusting God to give me the individual strength I need? How could I show Him more trust or faith?
What could I still be resisting to surrender to? Are things really that bad, or is my mindset making this harder?
What may God be trying to reveal to me through this trial/experience?
What are some thoughts or behaviors that I am still clinging to or scared to give up? Have I released those items to God to handle?
Am I placing unrealistic expectations on myself? Where am I forgetting to give myself credit?
I hope these help you reflect and create healthier coping skills for your anxiety.
