The average person spends around 144 minutes on social media each day.
You know all those things you say you don’t have time to do? A lot of people tell me they don’t enough time to work out, prepare healthy meals or meditate.
I get it, we’re busy! And social media is an amazing way to connect with our friends, search for inspiration or keep up with family members. But there are SO many more productive things you could be doing instead of mindlessly scrolling through Instagram – and you know it.
You have time to stalk someone else’s life… but claim you have no time to work on yourself? Girl, I’m not buying it. Those photos from your cousin’s baby shower or your classmate’s brunch aren’t going anywhere, I promise!
Imagine spending those two hours and twenty four minutes doing the things you love, working towards your goals or improving your health!
See? There are a bunch of productive things you can do when you’re bored instead of reaching for your phone to get that Facebook or Instagram fix.
It’s time to STOP wasting your day scrolling on social media and say HELLO to the things you’ve been missing out on. This week I challenge you to catch yourself when you’re triggered to scroll, and do something from this list instead. Isn’t it more important to accomplish the things that matter most to you?
Ever since I stepped away from social media in the evenings, I am more present, tuned into the world around me, and appreciative of what I have. I am being more mindful, curious and content!
We are all guilty of replacing real life with Instagram – when we come home from work, when we’re bored or when we’re looking for a distraction.
