You can do anything you want to- but sometimes, WE NEED HELP

I used to really struggle with being self-disciplined and was constantly at war with my body. My unhealthy eating habits exacerbated my anxiety and visa versa. I found myself constantly fluctuating between being “all out” (not caring, eating my feelings, not exercising) OR I was “all in” (obsessive, restrictive, and overtraining). 

For years, I went to bed thinking , “I’ll do better tomorrow” and felt so disappointed in myself when nothing changed the next day. My life constantly felt like a list of “dos” and “don’ts”. I became so focused on finding peace, freedom, and joy through my body and food that I didn’t even realize they had become idols- and oddly enough, were leading me further away from “health” than I had ever been. The peace, freedom, and joy you are seeking comes from God and taking care of yourself. Friend, you KNOW this. 

My point: 

-figure out what you’re actually hungry for: security, fulfillment, connection, contribution, accomplishment, maybe even companionship. 

-identify what truths you’re avoiding (your roadblock to success): unwanted habits, being miserable in your job, a stagnant relationship, or maybe you have slowly withdrawn from your friends and self-care. 

-establish how you want to feel: happy, healthy, free, in control of your mindset and behaviors, NOT stressed all the time, LOTS OF ENERGY!

-list out the types of traits and habits you need to adopt to make this happen.

-create a plan or strategy that implements these items

-if you aren’t able to get there on your own IT IS TIME TO SEEK MENTORSHIP!

You can do anything you want to- but sometimes, WE NEED HELP. As women, that is hard to admit because we are supposed to be the glue that holds it altogether right? FALSE. If you can’t hold yourself together, you ARE NOT holding anything else together, TRUST ME ON THAT. 

In fact, that’s likely why you feel so burned out and keep coming to these posts. If you need help and are truly ready to feel better, please reach out. Imagine how it would feel to all of a sudden back up your anxiety with, “but NOW, I have support, all the tools, and a specific plan just for me to focus on with God.”
