When making positive lifestyle changes, we can easily find ourselves in a place of burn out, forgetting why we started or struggling to maintain motivation. When you want to give up remember that any “setback”, “mistake”, or “slip-up” is simply part of your learning experience, and try these 5 tips to persevere when you want to give up!⠀

Every step of your journey matters, even the ones that feel backwards.⁣⁣⠀

5 tips to persevere when you want to give up!⠀⠀

1. Prioritize a self-care routine.

Self care is ENERGY GIVING.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Filling up your cup is essential to helping you persevere when you want to give up and allows you to pour abundant energy into the rest of your to-dos. ⁣⁣

 

2. Minimize your to-do list. No more than 3 daily to-dos this week (even if it feels “unproductive” at first).⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I used to get WAY carried away with my to-do list expectations.⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You know the term “eyes bigger than the stomach”?⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me it was a to-do list bigger than the day. ⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I would write out WAY much more than what could OR needed to be completed…⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then, of course, I wouldn’t get to it all, I’d perceive myself as a failure and the negative self-talk would hang around for the rest of the week. ⁣

⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Work on mindset shifts to focus on your growth rather than your small setbacks.⠀

Learn to MAGNIFYING your great efforts and minimize your focus on one small hiccup.
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Those small “hiccups” mean NOTHING in the long run. Creating your dream lifestyle is a process, not an overnight fix. Focus on your victories, and all the previous times you have chosen to persevere when you want to give up, before.
